These large whimsical hanging fish are perfect for the cottage or beach getaway. Each fish features eight larger different colored pieces of genuine sea glass, perfect or imperfect as they were found on the beach, graduating toward the bottom with the smaller pieces. Bones are of glass pearls. I hand cut, drilled and painted the fish heads myself. They have been varathaned to weather well and the fins are of scallop shells back to back. They are secured by rust resistant metal and will hold up outside just fine. Mine has been outside for years. No rust! Hang by the looped fishing line on your deck and they are heavy enough to bear some decent wind. These are especially popular with men, but are suitable for anyone. Each fish is approximately a little over a foot long and can be used indoors or outdoors. Shipping is free in the U.S. All of my items are made and are ready to ship.

What is Sea Glass?

Sea Glass pieces are frosty, sparkling gems that are naturally tumbled by the sea, sand and time. Each has a unique shape just like a snowflake does. These glass “shards” originate from broken bottles and tableware found as a result of eroded dump sites, natural disasters, and (my favorite) shipwrecks. Yo, Ho, Ho, and a bottle of Rum!

A really good piece of Sea Glass is at least 50 years old. It takes that long to tumble in the surf and sand and become pitted by mother nature. They are a perfect example of our human discarded “rubbish” turned into something beautiful by the ocean.

The pieces you find in my store are hand collected from the sea shore, by me or someone I know personally. With the wonderful recycling we do now, they will not be found forever.
